The Finals - Embark Addressing Cheaters. Dev Updates: 2.6 Patch, Vehicles & More
The finals just got some brand new developer updates pertaining to some potential confirmations, including those with vehicles. We're also getting a brand new report system that's much more in-depth. We also have some new Easter egg discoveries, as well as when the new patch is dropping, and a whole bunch more.
It's Utopia back in with another article today. We're checking all things final, okay? So jumping right into it, let's get into the new report system that's being established through Discord. Obviously this is going to help with the exploits cheating and even teaming that's happening in ranked so we have a post here outlined by Embark Dusty who went on here to say today we are introduced, article player reports, we have always said that the best way to catch bad behavior inside the finals is through in-game reporting and that is still true however we have seen the power of this community and we want to use all of your amazing energy and passion to keep the game safe and help remove the worst offenders as fast as possible in many cases this will mean catching cheaters but it also means catching people abusive in voice chat and other bad behavior, which can take much longer to handle without article proof Thus, we have made a channel where we can collect your article reports and review them.
This channel is only for article reports, as other reports should be sent in-game or to our Report Team by making a ticket, and again, that's what {52} supports. But also the Embark ID of the reported player, so make sure you're getting both of those, as you'll still need that Embark ID, so you cannot use footage that you've had that didn't include the Embark ID.
They will remove any incomplete or empty reports, and they do not want you to ping staff or any users in the thread, and if you do so, your threat will be closed after the review. Going back to Dusty's statement, they said here that they want the channels and the server to be dedicated fun and not hunting cheaters as a group, which has kind of been seen lately as a lot of people have been doing some witch hunting in the actual channels.
Of course, the support and reporting team has been really quick with handling this type of stuff. We have to see how they do with article reports, but they've been really quick with tickets. Their ending statement here was that we know that bad actors can make the game experience much less fun and want to actively compensate that in any way they can, and this is an experiment.
that issue overall, or at least seemingly so, and we'll have to wait and see how all those play out. Also, make sure you get their Embark ID by going over to the actual tab section, where you can see the scoreboard. And clicking on their name so that you can see their actual Embark ID, because you will need that for proof otherwise they cannot handle the reports as people can have duplicate names but that will provide the number and the name as well, and yeah, even Embark Oscar goes over here saying that we need the article plus ID for this at least at the start maybe they'll have some stuff in the future where they don't need both the ID and the article just the article itself, however with both devs confirming here and the thread confirming it, you will need all of that information in order to make a successful report.
Now we do have some information on the latest patch date or when we will be seeing the next patch. Typically, this does happen tonight leading into Wednesday or in the a. m.; however, we're going to be seeing this on Thursday, so again, more than likely around 5:00 a. M est but that should be this Thursday, May 2nd, again coinciding.
With the twitch drops as well as the new game mode, it seems like they do need that extra day to just get things polished, as well as, yeah, of course, they want to coincide with the twitch DRS, as I said, as well as other things happening to update. As it seems like they're doing that, we will have to wait and see on everything with that, though.
I know I talked about this in my previous articles, but we did have some vehicle stuff in that Alpha footage. Again, this has been brought up multiple times, right before launch as well as a few months later. However, we did have an update potentially, here possibly confirming that, but it is a bit Rocky, so we did have someone here mention when we got that car from that teaser trailer such a long time ago again, that was from 2021.
So it's been some time since that actually dropped. Embark Rob did respond here who said as soon as we get time to rewrite the physics it's in the plants now again people have pointed out this might be sarcasm, overall especially coming from Rob who's more so the Easter egg guy with the Easter egg stuff and all that there however he could be pertaining to the vehicle physics however if he's pertaining into the entire game physics more than likely this is never going to be coming It's at least some type of information and acknowledgement from the developers that this did happen, and they did showcase that some people want the vehicles.
A lot of people are mentioning that the maps are way too small, and people think it's still fun to have them in there. I think just adding another dynamic to this game and something fun will definitely spice it up, so I do hope they get them up and running at least physics-wise and get the rework in there, although again, this could be potentially sarcasm, especially from Rob.
We'll have to wait and see on everything if there's any more dev confirmations or if this is brought up again. If there is any more information or news on that, I will be sure to cover it 100%. Now we did have someone here actually poking out a no-life or no-Easter egg in the last treat that we had for the new game mode, 5v5, terminal attack.
We had a frame here that says no underscore. The next frame is one life, so they put the two and two together, saying that there is no life there again. This is still super interesting. I haven't seen anything on Discord about this, so this was first pointed out by this Reddit user by the name of a mundane paramedic.
Still, a really cool find. As I said, there was nothing on Discord; usually they're the first guys to point this stuff out, so it was kind of cool what we find here overall. Again, it might be connected with the story; we'll have to see if that ties into the next trailer, as we probably will get quite a big one with this next update since it's going to show off that new game mode.
I assume it's going to be a lot bigger than the last trailer we had or the last trailers that we get for all of the different Store updates, at least because this is seemingly such a bigger patch. We also have things potentially coming into light change as well as the stun gun, or at least seemingly so since they talked about it in the last patch.
